How to move your website to other host?
« on: June 02, 2017, 05:27:06 AM »
I am going to move a few websites to a new host but I don't know how or what is the fastest way to move big websites with large data/databases to a new host. I used to use backup function in cPanel but it is pretty slow and sometimes it was interrupted the process. What are the alternatives?

You can contact your new hosting provider, many host do that job. Otherwise you can download backup from cpanel and provide your host and ask them to restore your cpanel backup.

he most convenient way to transfer your website's files to your new web hosting account is via FTP. You should connect to your hosting account and download the files locally to your computer. Then you have to upload them to your new hosting account's main folder (usually public_html, www or httpdocs).

You can migrate your website to the new host through cPanel transfers.

Step 1. Find a new web host
Step 2. Locate and download your website
Step 3. Export your website database
Step 4. Upload your website and import your database
Step 5. Test your website
