Platform as a Service (PaaS) is the category of cloud computing services that offers an on-demand environment to develop, test, manage, and deliver software applications. It is intended for the developers to create mobile or web apps in an easy and quick manner as it supports the complete web application lifecycle.

Thus, Platform as a Service (PaaS) describes a category of cloud computing platform which is delivered or rented to provide –

    Integrated solution
    Solution Stack
    Service through internet

Typically a cloud computing consists of five layers –

    Client layer (Hardware and Software)
    Application layer (including SaaS)
    PaaS layer
    Infrastructure layer (including IaaS)
    Server Layer
